AYSO Referees Needed!

Amazing parents, Did you know? AYSO is run entirely by volunteers.  Your child's coach and those who referee your child's matches are volunteers - usually they're the parents of a teammate and some, whose kids have grown up, continue to come back year after year so our kids can play soccer! We need you! Come learn the ins and outs of soccer as a referee!  Enjoy the best seat to watch the game - on the field, anywhere you want to stand!  It's a fun time and a good excuse for a bit of cardio each weekend.  Whether it's with the whistle in the "middle" or as an assistant on "the line", you'll contribute to a group of kids learning and playing as a team. You do not need to know anything about soccer to get started.  We train you and we mentor you. But seriously, we do need you. Soccer matches don't happen without the ref.  Each U8 match needs a ref.  Each 10U+ match needs three:  a ref and two assistants.  Each match has 2 teams.  That means on average, each team's parents (or siblings) need to contribute a game and a half of referee-crew for every game they play.  Each team should plan to have at least two parents (or youth age 12+) certified and regularly contributing as referees. How do I sign up?  There's some online material and then an in-person field class to actually practice on an actual field. In person field session dates: August 17, August 24 and September 14.
