Description

*IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY, PLEASE RSVP TO: Derek Corea at Derek@dignitymoves.org*

Furnish transitional housing tiny homes for people experiencing homelessness.

The event will take place March 22nd-23rd between 10am-6pm each day.

By participating in our "Adopt a Unit" program, you volunteer to purchase necessary decor and spend a day cleaning and decorating a private room for our unsheltered neighbors. You will be responsible for making your room a wonderful and welcoming space for future residents. Personal touches, color, and variety are greatly appreciated, but the room should be gender-neutral.
Below are some suggestions. The links are meant to point you in the right direction, you should choose items similar to those you like. Gently used is acceptable. The most important item of all is a handwritten welcome note! This expression of generosity from neighbors is a powerful way to demonstrate that we care.

● 2 sets of sheets (fitted and flat) for a twin-size bed and two pillowcases
● 1 sleeping pillows
● Duvet cover and duvet insert
● Colorful throw pillows
● A warm fleece blanket
● Under-desk trash can
● A small area rug (it should be 3x5 or 4x4 and washable)
● A small fake plant or fake flowers to sit on the shelf

food, please no nuts, alcohol, perishable or meltable foods)

In addition to purchasing these materials and providing a donation, you will also be responsible for cleaning your unit—making sure it’s dust-free, Wiping the windows, removing any last residue on the walls from the packaging materials, and making it sparkling clean! We will provide cleaning materials.
