Vote16 Palo Alto

We are Vote16 Palo Alto! We believe that sixteen-year-olds should have the right to vote in local elections as full civic participants. We believe that they are not only mature enough to vote, but have just as much of a vested interest in the democratic process as any other voter. We also believe that sixteen-year-olds voting would benefit society at large by increasing youth voter turnout and creating more civically engaged adults down the road. It is for this reason that we advocate that the voting age be lowered for municipal elections.

Right now, we’re focused on gathering enough signatures to qualify our initiative for the November 2026 ballot. Our team is actively organizing 18+ registered voters to help circulate petitions, collect signatures, and make youth representation a reality in Palo Alto.
