This event is led by Social Justice AAR (Advanced Authentic Research) students from Gunn High School. We are organizing group public transportation trips to differnt fun places in the Bay Area to raise awareness about the local public transit system and help teenages get familiar with navigating the complicated system.
Why should you participate? You get to go fun places, hang out and build community, as well as, most importantly, get service hours!
The trips are going to be:
Sunday, March 9th - San Jose Museum of Art (CalTrain)
Sunday, March 16th - The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, San Jose (CalTrain)
Sunday, April 13th - Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley (CalTrain & BART)
Sunday, April 20th - San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival (Caltrain) CANCELLED
For each of the trips, the meeting place and the destination are going to vary. An email will be sent out with more details after you sign up for the shift. Feel free to respond to the email if you are unsure about getting to the starting spot of the trip - we can help you find a connecting bus or figure out the route.
Please bring about $8 (preferably in cash) for the bus/train fares if you do not have a Clipper card, and if you do - make sure to have at least $10 on it. If you have any questions about the payment process or require help paying - don't hesitate to email us - le53079@pausd.us (Alex), m97603495@gmail.com (Iris).
