Description

Make Service Day possible by signing up as a parent chaperone!

In partnership with Youth Community Service (YCS) and the student-led Gunn YCS Club, Gunn High School provides transportation so that students can volunteer off campus. Service sites include elementary schools, community gardens, food banks, and more. Service Day allows students and Gunn High School to give back.

This year, Service Day is Monday, March 31, 2025. Buses leave Gunn at 9:00am and return by 2:00pm. We anticipate that over 200 students will participate across 15+ service sites. Although we have a great team of YCS and school staff, parent volunteers are essential.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Meet students and staff either at Gunn's campus or at the service site
  • Assist with the on-site volunteer projects
  • Work with the assigned teacher chaperone and student leader make sure that all students are safe and equipped to complete their tasks effectively

Sign from this page. You may request one preferred service site. View a list of service sites here. Note that we cannot guarantee you will be assigned to your requested site, although we will do our best!

NOTE: When you click "sign up," you will be prompted to first upload a LiveScan fingerprint request form *or* proof that you have already been fingerprinted by PAUSD in the last year. All parent volunteers must have up-to-date fingerprint status.

Please reach out to aubrey@youthcommunityservice.org with any questions.
