Due to the nature of farmers' market volunteering, volunteers must be over the age of 16 or accompanied by a parent. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent fill out a virtual waiver on their behalf. We accept 2 volunteers per day at the East Palo Alto Compost Collections.
Our Community Compost Collections during the East Palo Alto Community Farmers' Market at Bloomhouse allows folks to divert their compostable food waste into gardening compost to grow nourishing fruits and vegetables! Volunteering will consist of collecting food scraps, distributing clean compost bins, and interacting with community members at the farmers' market. Please be prepared for strong smells and wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. East Palo Alto compost collections take place every Wednesday from 8:00am-10:00am during the East Palo Alto Farmers’ Market.
