Our Community Compost Hub at Collective Roots Community Garden in East Palo Alto allows folks to divert their compostable food waste into gardening compost to grow nourishing fruits and vegetables! Volunteering will consist of assisting with compost collections and integrations, so please be prepared for strong smells and wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
East Palo Alto compost collections and integrations take place every Wednesday from 10:00am-12:30pm. Volunteers must fill out an application/wavier first (https://www.tfaforms.com/5151284) and then reserve the specific date that they want to volunteer on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/east-palo-alto-compost-hub-volunteer-voluntariado-de-abono-organico-tickets-1118273308569?aff=oddtdtcreator).
Volunteers must be over the age of 13 or accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian fill out a virtual waiver on their behalf.
We accept 5 volunteers per Compost Hub Workday at the Collective Roots Community Garden.
