Elizabeth Gamble Garden relies heavily on the time and work of our volunteers, “The Dirty Knees Brigade” We appreciate anyone who comes to volunteer in the garden, and will accept anyone willing to learn about different aspects of gardening. Our “Dirty Knees” help us with all parts of the gardening process, from planting to harvesting, from amending beds to weeding. When working with volunteers we explain what we are doing, how to do it, and why it is important to the garden. Our volunteers are always excited to learn more about plants and gardening techniques. We welcome anyone who is interested in learning about gardening to come down and volunteer. We require no prior gardening experience and can be flexible with volunteer availability.
Occasionally our volunteers also get the chance to take home flowers and produce, which is one perk of volunteering at Gamble.
